Main Features
To ensure the best operating stability, reliability and security for your web hosting, the Mini 20 package uses the latest Redhat Enterprise Linux server technology running on Dell servers and a Cisco gigabit-technology network.
Connection to the Internet is provided through an auto-monitored, core 200mbit per second connectivity - multiple connections are maintained via different backbone providers (should one provider fail) ensuring complete redundancy.
- Web space
The Mini 20 package gives you 200MB of Web space.
- Bandwidth/Traffic
With this package you get 10000MB (10GB) per month of traffic (data transfer)
- Databases
You may create up to 4 MySQL databases for storing and accessing data for your Web site and database-driven applications. To manage your databases we also provide an easy-to-use Web-based control panel.
- Sub-Domains
You may create up to 20 sub-domains for your Web site. This allows you to point a new Web address, based on your domain, to separate areas of your Web site. For example - 'http://products.yourdomain.com/' could point to 'http://www.yourdomain.com/products/'.
This feature may also be combined with extra FTP accounts to provide access to sub-domain areas only... plus... we'll give you the same email capabilities for your sub-domains as for your main domain. For example - you could setup a mailbox, forwarder or auto responder for 'anything@products.yourdomain.com'.
- FTP Accounts
Mini 20 gives you 1 master FTP account with full access to your site directories and files. In addition, up to 4 extra FTP accounts may be created to give assigned users access to your whole site or areas of your site.
For example - during site development or updates, FTP users can be restricted to a specified directory to ensure that they have access to modify files within that area only.
Email
All our hosting packages come with full email capabilities including:
- Mail Boxes
Mini 20 permits up to 20 mail boxes to be created on your account. Mail boxes allow you to store email on our mail server until you are ready to download and read them using an email program such as Outlook Express, Pegasus or Eudora. Each mail box currently holds up to 400MB of email.
Note: Our mail servers support both POP3 and IMAP.
- Mailing Lists
Our mailing list system allows you to add up to 20 mailing lists (distribution lists) to your Mini 20 account. With a basic form on your site, users will be able to subscribe (opt-in) to your list - you can then send an email to all subscribers on your mailing list using this system via your hosting control panel.
- Auto responders
Our auto responder system allows you to set up simple auto responders on your account that send a reply message automatically from a specified email address when an email is sent to that address. The Mini 20 package allows you to set up 20 separate auto responders on your account
- Mail Forwarding
This feature allows you to forward email addresses in your account to other email addresses. You can choose either basic or catch-all forwarding:
- Basic forwarding - with the Mini 20 account you can forward up to 80 email addresses in your account to up to ten other email addresses each.
- Catch-all forwarding - you can choose to forward all emails for any addresses in your account to one external email address.
- Mail Server
As part of the Mini 20 package we provide you with your own incoming POP3 and outgoing SMTP mail server address. Alternatively, in your email program for outgoing mail, you can specify our generic SMTP server or the SMTP server your internet connection service provider (ISP) has given you.
- Junk/Spam Filters
Using this feature you can filter-out junk emails from legitimate mail before you download and read them with your email program. You can also set an email address to receive all the filtered junk mail for checking. You may choose either domain or address filtering with our system:
- Domain filtering - this allows you to set up a filter to strip out all junk emails sent to any and all addresses on your domain.
- Address filtering -
this allows you to set up a filter to strip out junk emails for each individual email address on your domain.
- WebMail
WebMail is a powerful Web-based email system. With WebMail you can access your account mail boxes from anywhere in the world, through an Internet connection.
The system includes the usual email features - read, compose and send - plus your own address book, search facility and task/appointment scheduling... you can even use it to access other email accounts (POP3 compliant) you may have, outside of your SiteOnTheNet account.
Note: WebMail has 1GB of storage space per mail box.

With our Domain Manager you get a host of tools to help manage your domain as
part of your complete hosting package - even if your hosting domain is only pointing to us you will still have DNS management control.
- FTP and SSH
We provide FTP server access to your Web site files as standard and, if required, SSH server access as well. FTP services can be configured in the hosting control panel... plus... if you need an FTP program or SSH program for your PC... we've got those as well!
Note: SSH server access enables you to log in directly to the server that hosts your Web site and allows you to modify your site using Linux commands. For security reasons SSH access is granted only by request - completion of an application form supported by I.D. document copies.
- File Manager
This Web-based tool allows you to work with your files and folders through your browser and provides an alternative to using an FTP program. With this application you can download and upload files, rename, delete, move and copy files, change file and directory permissions, create and rename directories, create new and edit text files... and more...
- MySQL Database Administration
Using this feature you can manage all aspects of your databases in your Mini 20 account - we even provide an easy-to-use database backup and restore tool.
With our powerful Web-based control panel you have complete control over database tables, fields and data, you can perform table maintenance, run SQL queries, export the database or selected data... and there is plenty of documentation available to help you.
- Password Protection
This feature allows you to password protect directories on your Web site and assign, add, remove and update usernames and passwords for access to those areas.
- Backup/Restore Tools
This feature allows you to make a backup of your Web site as a zip file, and download it to your PC. To restore the site you can upload and unpack the zip file using one of three restore options: delete all files then restore, recreate missing files only and unpack files to a temporary directory.
- Scheduled Task
Using this feature you can configure up to 3 programs to run automatically - hourly, daily, weekly or monthly - on the server that hosts your Web site.
Note: This is intended for advanced users and requires knowledge of Linux commands.
